Hey, Mike here, I hope you're doing great! In my last post i talked about how it was important not to stress out, especially at such an emotional time as the world cup and how getting out to exercise on your bike could help. Well folk's i have been setting a good example and started cycling into work!! Yes its true, iv got on my bike. I was a little hesitant at first, especially as the studio is in Cookridge and its mostly up hill all the way, but it did it.

Cycling is a excellent form of exercise. Studies have shown that getting on your bike can reduce stress, help tone the arms & thighs. There are even studies suggesting that cellulite can be reduced from cycling!( I'm not sure about that one)Anyhow, i think it's safe to say that it is a great way to help keep fit and health and it's relatively inexpensive. You can pick a good quality bike up for less that £150 form certain auction sites. Its also great way for the family to enjoy fitness together. This time of year everyone loves being outdoors and getting on you bike together as a family is a super way to enjoy the summer sun!

So if you're thinking of a new way to exercise or are looking for a way to enjoy being outdoors throughout the summer months, getting on your bike is one of the best ways, its fun, its a great way to burn calories and its free!

Enjoy the sunshine

Keep well

Mike.

  1. Hi Mike,

I totally agree. Your words have inspired me to dig out my bike, dust it off, and take it for a spin. However a few questions:

Will cycling help with my abdominal muscles?

As far as amount of time spent cycling, is it better to ride short and fast or long and slow?

And what are the benefits of both?

Look forward to hearing from you and your new post.

    B
